A Complete Guide for CA Intermediate Registration Process 2023

The CA intermediate registration can be done online mode, using the link icai.org. Though the intermediate course registration remains open throughout the year for all aspiring candidates, there is a cut-off date to register for every session of exams. For the CA intermediate exam that is going to be conducted in May 2024, the registration must be done within Sep 1, 2023. For the Nov 2023 examination, the registration must be done within May 2024.

Things to Remember:

This is an important part of taking the CA course because, within this period of registration and exam, the candidates must complete an 8-month of study course with the study materials that will be received from ICAI after registering. It is clear on the official registration page that to appear for the CA inter examination, the candidate must register for the exam eight months before it. It is important to know that there are two routes to apply for the registration course. One is through the foundation, and the other is the direct entry.

Foundation Entryway:

Through the foundation method, the candidates who had registered with BOS for the foundation course plan, qualify for the foundation examination.

Direct Entryway:

The direct entryway is specifically for candidates who did not take a foundation course and those who skipped the foundation exam of ICAI. Candidates applying through this method must know that they can register for the CA intermediate course and examination if they are commerce graduates or postgraduates with a minimum of 55% marks, or other students having different degrees with a minimum of 60% marks. There is another option where the candidate is an Intermediate level pass from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Eligibility for Direct Entryway:

As brief information, Graduate/ postgraduate students who have studied at least three subjects among Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Law, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial management), Taxation (including direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration or management accounting (or similar subjects with different designations), securing a minimum of 55% in it.

Students who have registered for the CA inter exam through the direct entry route are being given time till July 31, 2023, for registration. The students must provide satisfactory proof that they have passed graduation (mark sheet) with the minimum marks provided for taking the examination for the May 2023 exam, in particular.

These students are supposed to start their practical course training (articleship) on or before 15th September 2022 and complete their orientation course and IT training on or before December 31, 2022. Later they are allowed to take their May 2022 CA inter examination.

For foreign candidates:

The total fees do not include any other activity and articleship fees, the fee for both groups is Rs.1000 and for single groups, it is Rs.600.

The documents required for CA intermediate Registration 2023:

There are some required documents for the CA Intermediate registration for the year 2023 which are to be submitted to the concerned regional office within seven days from the time of online registration along with the print-out copy of the online registration form, signed by the student.

Foundation Route:

The foundation route candidates have to submit the attested copy of the mark sheet of their class 12 examination or its equivalent certificate from a recognized central government examination pass marks statement.

Direct Entry Route:

Through the direct entry route, the students have to submit an attested copy of graduation/post-graduation mark statements/ mark sheet of intermediate level examination of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

It is important to submit one recent color photograph (that is to be attached to the printout of the successful online registration form)

They are supposed to attach an attested copy of proof of nationality if the candidate is a foreigner.
It is also required to submit an attested copy of proof of special category certificate, that is SC,/ST, OBC, or differently-abled.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REGISTER FOR THE CA INTERMEDIATE 2023:

Step 1: First and foremost, visit the official website and find the ‘course registration form’ option under the tab called ‘students’.

Step 2: The students need to register online by entering the details such as their name, gender, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, and all the required details.

Step 3: Once all the necessary details are given, click on the submit button, and an OTP will be sent to your number, which is your registered mobile number.

Step 4: After submitting the OTP, you need to log in with your credentials (your email ID and password)

Step 5:  Fill in all the necessary details given below the mandatory registration requirements.

Step 6: After filling in the mandatory details, the candidate has to upload the images of scanned copies of all the original documents.

Step 7: The last step is to pay for the registration, through an online payment gateway. It is important to register with the right details to the board of studies for the CA inter examination, and hence after this, they can proceed to complete the application for the CA intermediate examination 2023.

The students must know that the CA intermediate is the second level of the CA examination course administered by the ICAI, and the aspirants must be keen to study for a study period of nine months.

It is conducted by ICAI, the premier professional accountancy body of the country – thus the level of educational expectations is high, so the students must be prepared for what they are challenged with.
